Summart

I recently worked on the website for Summart, which is a really cool non-profit art hub. They’ve been around since 2004, starting out as a place where artists from all over the world could stay and create together. Nowadays, they’ve turned into this multidisciplinary space in Istanbul. What I like about them is that they aren't just a gallery; they really focus on giving young artists a platform and making art feel accessible to everyone, whether it’s painting, photography, or workshops.

So, let me tell you about Summart—the project I’ve been developing the site for. They’ve got a pretty interesting backstory. They actually started back in 2004 with an artist residency program, basically bringing creators from different cultures under one roof for ten years to inspire each other.

In 2014, they evolved into what they are now: the Summart Art Center. It’s a non-profit spot that covers everything from classic paintings to modern installations and workshops. The vibe there is very inclusive. Instead of being a 'snobby' gallery, their main goal is to support emerging young talents and bridge the gap between artists and the public. It’s basically a community space where art is part of everyday life rather than something kept behind closed doors.
